Bus to Hikkaduwa Beach, Sri Lanka
Boarded a 6am bus en route to my next beach destination, Hikkaduwa Beach. Met a Polish couple on the 2nd bus ride of 3 buses. They were training to be a flight attendants for Charter planes, not a bad sounding gig really.
Watched sea turtles swim right up to the shoreline as a man fed them. Then a bucket of baby sea turtles was dumped a few meters from the shoreline as dozens of baby turtles scampered toward their first open sea swim.
Met the usual handful of locals who asked where I was from, if I’m married, why I’m single, why I’m traveling alone, what my job is – all questions which I have not a solid answer for.
